You may think it difficult to smile and sing along to a song about suicide but we do just that with ‘Do You?’ which has one of the most infectious choruses.

DO YOU HAVE THE STAR QUALITY NEEDED TO FRONT AN EXCITING BRITISH ROCK BAND? IF SO… READ ON!!
Hey! Hello! Too, Pledge Music, Round Records releases, Solo Acoustic shows, Electric shows, Festival appearances. 2016 looks to be busy for Mr Wildheart.
I wanted to start this review and end it in one sentence, “go and buy this, it’s f**king awesome”. Job done I said to myself as I switched the laptop off and went off to pour myself a very well deserved beer having written such a poignant commentary.
Fresh from a supporting slot on the recent Wildhearts PH.U.Q. anniversary tour, Hey! Hello! headlined the Friday night at ‘The Nightmare Before Halloween’ with Hollis Mahady now front and centre as the permanent vocalist. Hollis’ other band and the one that brought her to the attention of Hey! Hello!’s founder Ginger Wildheart, Love Zombies then played the following night. With a Japanese Hey! Hello! tour coming up before some UK dates in December culminating with Ginger’s Birthday Bash in London on December 17th, there’s naturally a bit of a buzz about Miss Mahady and co.
As I prepared to write up the review of The Wildhearts show at the Shepherds Bush Empire, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of seminal release ‘P.H.U.Q.’ , it was knowing that I would struggle to write anything but positive messages about the set and the band’s performance. These days, the Wildhearts are a safe bet. Not middle of the road, boring or even dull safe but safe in the knowledge that I’m always going to enjoy myself for the entire evening.
Chris Catalyst is certainly a busy man. Sunday night saw him perform a solo acoustic set at The Borderline, rapidly followed by a set with C.J. Wildheart at the same gig. Then a mere three days later, here he is again, playing alongside a host of familiar faces and special guests, celebrating the 50th birthday of one of Britain’s greatest singer songwriters, Ginger Wildheart!
Despite always nearly retiring, calling it a day, and more.. there is no doubt they will be back for another batch of album anniversary shows in the near future.
