A rocking roller-coaster of a set, from old school rock vibes, great back beats and gravelly vocals, to offerings with a real dose of deep south evangelical joy
A weekend spent in superb company with great established rock acts and new bands coming through
Suck it up snowflakes and be grateful that someone had the sense to put the bill together to guarantee a sold out crowd and and atmosphere like no other.
We were learning so much watching those bands, you know what I mean? Going, “that’s how you craft a song, that’s how you get 80,000 people to put their hands in the air and sing along.
To see the amount of people wearing the merch, going after each show, people singing lyrics back at you, that is really where the fun really comes from and the drive to carry on.
With this being the first night just one of the two stages was open, allowing the ever growing crowd to stay warm and cosy inside enjoying the music and the beer.
In conclusion the evening delivered quality entertainment, and like everybody else that had witnessed the Black Star Riders introductory performance I would be proud to say as per the official event badge and T-shirt that “I was there” “Bound for Glory”? I think that Black Star Riders wont be long in achieving that status, already on the way with current chart placing of the “All Hell Breaks Loose” release. Successfully bridging the past and present of the band this marks a new and exciting chapter in their history, inevitable world domination waits!!!
