The encore though was the moment of pure magic for me. Adding Light Years from the new album into the encore was a stroke of genius as it sat perfectly in between possibly some of the greatest tracks the band have ever recorded.
With Matt Fuller playing lead guitar and jumping about with a huge grin on his face and Michael John Adams on the other side just being the most smoothest and mellow bass player but also enjoying himself ridiculously, that feeling fed into the crowd as they played hit after hit.
Some bands incorporate myriads of lasers into their shows, some have live trapeze artists and giant robots (Muse, I’m looking at you) but few bands put so much effort into their own performance as this young group.
The Hu came onto the stage to huge cheers and whoops from all of us and wow they pack out th stage, not only do they have their four members there but they also have an additional four people on stage ranging from a modern day drum kit to traditional drums and electric guitars.
Wearing a simple black dress and adorned with tattoos and flowing rockers hair, Beth’s talent does not need pyrotechnics and a massive all singing all dancing stage show.
