Arriving at the Ramblin Man Fair on Sunday with three young children in tow amidst heavy downpours, I have to confess my spirits were not high and I envisaged a total washout as dreams of us sitting on picnic blankets, sun beating down, listening to some great tunes quickly evaporated.
I’m sure Fish must have had moments when he wished he’d called this tour something other than “The Moveable Feast Tour”, as that seems to have been an invitation for the God of Gigs to mess with him. Originally scheduled for May this year, the tour had to be postponed due to guitarist Robin Boult contracting and suffering badly from chicken pox. The re-scheduled dates were going well in mainland Europe until Fish developed laryngitis and had to postpone 17 dates until early next year
I’d love to write for the likes of Dave Gilmour but I think his missus does that now. [Laughs]. As far as working with other people, I’d love to write some stuff if they wanted things written but from a musical level, it’s not something I really think about that much.
