Nightqueen – For Queen and Metal Review

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a sucker for women in metal/hard rock. I have been since the days of Lita Ford, Vixen, and Doro Pesch in Warlock as well as solo. Perhaps it’s a carnal thing but truthfully it’s more to do with the fact that having a female in this genre automatically sets a band apart from most others.

Mystic Prophecy – Ravenlord Review

The new record follows all the same rules of power metal: You have one goal: be epic., in a power metal world, everything steel is good, and anything good must be compared to steel, you are not bound to sing about Satan, evil, and/or darkness. Okay forget that last rule because that’s a given.

Hunted – Welcome To The Dead

After spending a decent amount of time with the album, I can certainly see why there was some label interest here, while HUNTED play a sort of traditional heavy metal, power metal, NWOBHM blend it’s all covered over by a layer of technical wizardry and a slight hint of progressive metal, giving everything on the album a very world-class feel to it…

Wizard – …Of Wariwulfs And Bluotvarwes

So, it doesn’t look like …Of Wariwulfs and Bluotvarwes (cool title BTW) will mean any breakthrough for the band either, but there is probably nothing bad about being consistently average for such a long time.
