Alan Parsons Releases New Studio Album The Secret on 26th April

First Single, “Miracle” featuring Jason Mraz Out Now

Grammy Award Winning legendary music icon and master of progressive rock, Alan Parsons will return with a new album, “The Secret” on April 26, 2019 via Frontiers Music Srl. Today, the first song from the album, entitled “Miracle”, featuring Jason Mraz on vocals, has been made available. Listen to the track HERE:

Of the collaboration with Mraz, Alan says, “I met Jason two years ago through a neighbour who grows coffee on his ranch. Jason wanted to grow coffee himself and our neighbour, Jay was kind enough to introduce us since we had mutual musical interests. For ‘Miracle’, Jason recorded his vocals in Dallas while I listened in Santa Barbara and we sent files back and forth, resulting in this song. Thus proving that you don’t necessarily have to be in the same studio with someone to create music. This was also the case with Lou Gramm on the track “Sometimes”, which he sang in New York.

Mraz adds, “‘Eye In The Sky’ is a song I have a very early memory of, strapped in the backseat of my mom’s green Fiat, 1982. Alan Parsons is on the radio and I’m singing along, harmonizing. That sound of rich harmony over magical words would stick with me for my whole life and ultimately become what my own career is about, trying to solve universal quandaries through song craft.” When Mraz heard “Miracle”, he said, “I loved it. It sounded like a song right off of ‘Eye In The Sky’. As if no time had passed, proving time might just be a construct after all”. Woking with Alan was “[m]agic. Alan is very kind, very creative, and very authentic,” concludes Mraz.

Pre-order “The Secret” in multiple formats and stream “Miracle” HERE:

Alan’s longtime hobby has been performing magic and this brand new album showcases his own passion for the craft, hence the title “The Secret.” The album sees a return to the pop rock sound with symphonic and progressive rock interludes which the Alan Parsons Project was known for.

“Magic has always been a passion of mine, I am a member of The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. I’ve also worked with the Japanese magic company Tenyo, writing instruction books and catalogues for their tricks. I dabble with magic myself in my free time, so an album with magical influences was a natural progression”.

Alan’s history in the music business one is a storied and unique one. He was fortunate enough to work as assistant engineer on the last two albums by The Beatles and after he became a fully-fledged recording engineer, he went on to work with Paul McCartney and The Hollies, among many others. But it was his contribution as engineer on Pink Floyd’s classic “The Dark Side Of The Moon” that really got him the world’s attention. That soon led to striking successes as a producer, notably with Pilot’s “Magic”, John Miles’ “Highfly” and “Music”, and Steve Harley’s “Make Me Smile”. He also produced the hugely successful “Year Of The Cat” album with Al Stewart and two albums with American prog rock band Ambrosia.

In 1975 he met Eric Woolfson who not only became his manager, but joined forces with Alan as a songwriting and performing partner for what became known as The Alan Parsons Project. The APP’s debut album, “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination” based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe paved the way for signing to Clive Davis’ newly launched Arista label and a string of hit albums, namely, “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986), and “Gaudi” (1987).

With his long-standing previous APP collaborators, guitarist Ian Bairnson, drummer Stuart Elliott and orchestral arranger Andrew Powell, Alan dropped the “Project” identity for Alan Parsons’ “Try Anything Once” in 1994. The partnership continued for “On Air” in 1996 and “The Time Machine” in 1999. During this time, the first incarnation of “Alan Parsons Live Project” toured extensively all over the globe. Following Alan’s relocation to California in 1999, a brand new Live Project band was formed in 2003. Another band reshuffle happened in 2010. The current live band consists of Alan on acoustic guitar, keyboards and vocals, P.J. Olsson on vocals, Tom Brooks on keyboards, Guy Erez on bass, Jeff Kollman on guitar and vocals, Danny Thompson on drums, Todd Cooper on sax, percussion and vocals, Dan Tracey on guitar and vocals.

Parsons’ last album “A Valid Path”, a unique foray into the world of electronica, was released in 2004.

Mother Feather release “Man, I Wish You Were Here” video

New York City‘s Mother Feather are kicking off 2019 with brand new video for “Man, I Wish You Were Here.” The video originally debuted at the Triskelion Arts Dance Film Festival in November of 2018. Watch the video and listen to more cuts from Constellation Baby out on Metal Blade Records / Blacklight Media Records. Watch it now here:

Vocalist Ann Courtney elaborates on the concept behind the video and what makes it special: “I am a huge fan of artist Lia Bonfilio’s short-format dance films, and watching them on Instagram while listening to mixes for ‘Man, I Wish You Were Here’ gave me the idea to enlist her to create a music video for the song. Her visceral choreography and magic realism she often employs in her editing, along with the recurring theme of a woman in isolation, deeply resonated with my connection to this song. With Bonfilio cast as a sort of avatar, we were excited about another opportunity to ask the question, ‘Who is Mother Feather?'”

Constellation Baby was released on Blacklight Media Records / Metal Blade Records on November 2, 2018.

“Constellation Baby is a bold, rock ’n‘ roll statement.  The band tempers their fun anthems with doses of soul searching, broadening their sound in the best possible way. It offers up music for the party and for the comedown afterwards. What more could you ask for in a record?” New Noise Magazine

Collateral announce Show At Camden’s Black Heart on Feb 7

Collateral are thrilled to announce their first show at Camden’s Black Heart in London on Thursday 7th February 2019. The concert will see the band showcase their incredible talent. Tickets are on sale 10am from and are priced at £10.

What sets Collateral apart from the rest of the new bands is their combination of electric and acoustic guitar set against a big drum sound and throbbing bass guitar. They are loud, rockin’ and melodic. You can’t take your eyes off them.

Ever since Collateral burst on to the music scene earlier this year, they have attracted attention from venues, festivals, press, and of course, rock music lovers everywhere. Collateral fit neatly into the current NWOCR with their ‘Rock Anthems’ reminiscent of early Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Little Angels, Thunder, Skid Row and Tyketto.

The band’s debut EP ‘4 Shots!’ was releasedon Friday 23rd November via Roulette Records. The E.P. features the new single ‘Midnight Queen’ plus three other tracks.

This year they played Hard Rock Hell’s private VIP party and the reaction was off the hook.

The 4 Shots! E.P. was recorded and mixed by Sean Kenny at Ten 21 Studios and mastered by Grammy nominee Robin Shmittz of 24-96 mastering in Germany.

Ripped jeans, cowboy boots, long hair and plenty of eye-liner, Collateral are a new generation stadium-driven rock’n’roll. When they first started out, they were known as the Angelo Tristan Band, with frontman Angelo and bass player Jack forming the nucleus of the band. Since then, almost 5 years ago, they have worked tirelessly to grow their music, fanbase and their profile.

In true rock and roll style, it’s been a long ride, but their sheer grit and determination have seen them overcome obstacles and go from strength to strength. With the recent addition of new members Todd Winger (guitar) and Ben Atkinson (drums) and with the release of their debut single ‘Midnight Queen’ and ‘4 Shots!’ E.P., the boys have stepped up their game and are now attracting the attention they deserve.

“An explosive EP heralding the arrival of possibly the next big thing in classic rock.” – Daily Express

“Even with the current resurgence in good time Rock, hearing a band throw off the shackles in the way that Ramsgate’s Collateral have with their ‘4 Shots!’ debut is quite rare.” – Fireworks Magazine

New Music Friday – The Virginmarys release their new album ‘Northern Sun Sessions’

A jewel in the crown of the British rock scene; Friday 16th November marks the release of The Virginmarys brand new studio album ‘Northern Sun Sessions’.

Featuring 11 beautifully crafted compositions, this new album by the Macclesfield group features some of their best songs, ever.

To celebrate the release, Ally Dickaty (vocals/guitar) and Danny Dolan (drums/percussion) recently premiered a music video for lead single, the powerful anthemic and socially conscious track, ‘Look Out For My Brother’:

“We wanted the video for the lead single to capture the intensity and relentlessness of the live performance whilst encompassing the dark nature and power that runs through the music”, remarks Dickaty. “Paul Wright has done an amazing job of making a really cool visual whilst at the same time keeping the shots exciting and unnerving”, says Dolan.

‘Northern Sun Sessions’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Virginmarys, as it’s an album the band have self-produced (off the back of working with acclaimed producers Toby Jepson for debut album ‘King of Conflict’ and Gil Norton for 2016’s ‘Divides’) and this time they’ve gone direct to the fans with energetic, never overbearing, grassroots marketing.

So, what’s been the reaction?

“The response we’ve had from the media and fans has been nothing short of incredible”, says Dickaty, “When we started down this track we had no idea the success it would bring in. It’s been massively encouraging and a really special feeling when we’ve worked so close with this album from start to finish.”

With the album finally released, The Virginmarys turn their attention to a series of live dates in the UK this November.

20 Nov – BRISTOL, The Louisiana
21 Nov – LONDON, Hoxton Square B&K
22 Nov – LEEDS, Brudenell Social
24 Nov – MANCHESTER, Club Academy
28 Nov – GLASGOW, Stereo

“We can’t wait to get out there and play the new material for the first time! We’ve spent so long perfecting them in the studio it’s time to get out there and set them loose. These are going to be an extra special run of shows for everyone.”

The Virginmarys new album ‘Northern Sun Sessions’ is out now.

Bruce Dickinson comments,

“We’re immensely proud of this show and we’ve had great reactions from the many fans who came to see us in Europe earlier this year. The production is based on our mobile game THE LEGACY OF THE BEAST which basically takes various incarnations of Eddie into many different Maiden Worlds. This inspired us to put together a stage show to take our fans through different Worlds and experiences set to appropriate songs.

“It is not that easy designing different Worlds on stage and we put a huge amount of work into this to make it work and the end result we feel is our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date. We’ve got all kinds of crazy things going on, including a replica Spitfire plane dominating the stage during Aces High, tons of pyro, a giant Icarus, muskets, claymores and some truly marvellous flame-throwers which I have a hell of a lot of fun with, as you will see! And of course we have Eddie, as you’ve never seen him before, and absolutely loads of other surprises. I’ve had the time of my life playing with all these magnificent props on stage, it’s been fantastic, we can’t wait to bring this show to you!”

Steve Harris adds,

“We gave a lot of thought to the set list for this Tour as the songs needed to follow the narrative of the changing worlds of the stage show. We feel we ended up with a very strong and well balanced set mixing songs we haven’t played in many years like Flight Of Icarus, Sign Of The Cross and The Clansman with songs we know the fans want to hear like The Trooper, 2 Minutes To Midnight, The Number Of The Beast, Fear Of The Dark, Run To The Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name and others, reflecting the journey through the different themes of the show. The whole band is really enjoying this tour and we are really looking forward to seeing everybody again!”

The Legacy Of The Beast Tour production and set list were inspired by Maiden’s free to play mobile game of the same name is available on iOS and Android platforms.

For the 2019 shows, IRON MAIDEN will, in conjunction with the Promoters, be implementing a digital ticketing system in as many venues as possible, to assist in our battle against secondary ticketing. As always, we urge fans to only purchase tickets from approved outlets. (link to our tour dates page that’ll have all the sales links)

Fans In the Us & Canada will once again be able to enjoy a Trooper VIP upgrade package – full details here.

Hollis Brown sign to Cool Green Recordings/Mascot Label Group

Mascot Label Group has announced the signing of Hollis Brown to a global recording agreement with Cool Green Recordings.  Lead singer Mike Montali shares, “It’s an honor to be working with one of the best labels in the world. Can’t wait to do amazing things together.”  Mascot Label Group President, North America Ron Burman offers, “We’re thrilled to have Hollis Brown join our MLG family. I love their unique brand of infectious soulful authentic American rock.  Mike’s got classic vocals in the vein of Petty, Dylan, and Young…. I was blown away the first time I heard them.”

Named after a Bob Dylan song (“The Ballad of Hollis Brown”), the band was formed by Queens-natives and songwriters Mike Montali (lead vocals/guitar) and Jonathan Bonilla (lead guitar).  Both 2nd-generation immigrants (Italian-American and Puerto Rican-American, respectively), they soon found their musical brethren across America, recruiting Andrew Zehnal (drums) from Cleveland, and Adam Bock(keyboard/vocals) from St. Louis.

The band has achieved a significant amount of success since their formation in 2009.  Alongside side raves from media across the globe, the band’s repertoire has been featured in the worldwide trailer for the Michael Keaton film “The Founder,” the Willem Dafoe/Matt Dillon film “Bad Country,” Direct TV’s “Kingdom”; Showtime’s “Shameless,” MTV’s “Real World,” and an online ad campaign for Abercrombie & Fitch alongside many other syncs.

The band has toured extensively in America and Europe, headlining and supporting such bands as The Counting Crows, Citizen Cope, The Zombies, Jackie Greene, Heartless Bastards, Rich Robinson of Black Crowes, and Jesse Malin, and building an impressive fan base on both continents.
