It would be tempting to list the qualities of every track on this album but ill suffice to say that it is superb in its entirety from the opening track, to the last frenzied riff of “Sleep Awake Obey!”
There is plenty here to be encouraged by and this is exactly what you want from a rock record…
Joe came out for the encore pouring his skill and soul into “Woke Up Dreaming” the acoustic version, and it was fantastic. You know when you see the sweat pouring down the artists face? Yea he’s going to work.
Sounding like a cross between Motley Crue, Killer Dwarfs, D’Molls, and Vain but keeping it updated like Crazy Lixx and Eclipse with up-tempo beats and heavy doses of melodic rock injected (think happy music with sing-along choruses,) Pretty Wild is quite entertaining
The feeling of freedom to play non-stop and without any limitations seems to be the main rule of “Behold Electric Guitar”. In order to enter the philosophy of this record, the listener should let their own mind fly without limits, listen to the music and let be blown away by the immense skills of Paul Gilbert.
