Live Gig

Overkill / Symphony X, House of Blues, Chicago, Thursday 24th September 2015

It’s a warm late summer’s night in Chicago, and the windy city’s House of Blues is about to become the house of metal. In a treat for fans of heavy music, a double billing of epic proportions has just begun its US run, and tonight it’s the Illinois capital’s turn to witness the pairing of two of heavy music’s most respected acts. With pioneers of thrash Overkill joining forces with symphonic behemoths Symphony X, it’s a show that offers equal parts spit and polish; with New Jersey’s grimiest band pitted against one of its most progressive.

Interview with Andy Martongelli of Arthemis

Arthemis are a hard hitting metal band from Verona. The band was formed in 1999 off the back of Andrea Martongellis former band Nemhesis. They have moved from the days when they once fell under the category of a power metal band and have progressed onto being more of a Thrash Metal band. In 2013 they released their 1st live album with ‘Off Yer Rocka Recordings’ live from Hard Rock Hell in Wales. Since then the guys went onto grace the Main Stage at Bloodstock 2014. Andy Martongelli took time out of his busy schedule to talk with us.

Interview with Operation: Mindcrime’s, Geoff Tate

Geoff Tate needs little introduction. As frontman for Queensrÿche, the singer fronted the band for over two decades, and in the process released some of progressive metal’s finest albums. 1990’s ‘Empire’ and 1994’s ‘Promised Land’ may have sold more, however it’s 1988 release ‘Operation: Mindcrime’ that remains Queensrÿche’s finest hour.
