Final Sign hails from North Carolina and they have just released their debut album: “Hold High The Flame.”
During the recent tour of the UK with his band, Operation Mindcrime, leader singer and former front man with progressive metal icons Queensrÿche took time out to speak to Myglobalmind in Southend upon Sea. Not your typical heavy metal resort location but look up Chinnerys, the venue where the band are performing and you discover a wonderful musical history and a look at the walls confirms that pretty much anyone who is anyone has at some point pushed a flight case through the doors on the road to success.
When I think of Goth I think of mostly as the lyrical darkness. That is the thing that I very much like. There’s the style as well and I’m a very big fan of wearing black lipstick to go grocery shopping because you can, you know there is something about it which I’m very much drawn to
I first heard of Zakk Wylde back in the eighties when he recorded and toured with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. Zakk then went on to form a short lived blues rock trio Pride & Glory. Since the demise of that band Zakk has forged his own musical path with Black Label Society. Bls as they have become to be known are returning to play a UK Tour next month. I managed to secure some time with Zakk while he was touring in the States last week to have a chat.
This is already his 7th or 8th solo album, and as I’ve been fan of Mike’s extremely unique ‘rough silk’-y voice, I was quite curious to see how does his new material sounds like.
