In an interview with Rock Candy magazine, former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley revealed the reasons behind his absence from the band’s final show. According to his account, despite his earnest efforts, the collaborative endeavor fell apart due to issues with his former bandmates.

A comeback seemed improbable Frequent pleas from fans urging him to return were acknowledged by the musician. “Fans were consistently reaching out, saying, ‘Ace, please come back,'” Frehley stated. “The fans have always been my primary motivation, and I want them to understand that I made an attempt but couldn’t make it happen. They (Kiss) never approached me.” When questioned about the potential hindrance posed by his past struggles with alcohol and drugs, he affirmed his sobriety. “I’ve reached a point in my life where I’ve overcome substance abuse, and I’m content to distance myself from all of that.”

Despite contentious interactions with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Frehley still holds affection for his former bandmates. “I want people to know that I genuinely love Paul and Gene,” he expressed. “I wish things had unfolded differently, but it wasn’t meant to be…” Additionally, he maintains a positive outlook on his guitar successor, Tommy Thayer. “He’s a good guy […]. He’s not me, and he never aspired to be me either.” Rather than dwelling on the past, Ace Frehley embraces the future with enthusiasm. His upcoming studio album, 10,000 VOLTS, is set to release on 23.02. “I am confident that my new music will be a great success,” he affirmed. “The checks may not roll in, but I’m content with my musical pursuits. I can wake up each day knowing that my soul is my own… I’ve reclaimed my soul and my music.”
