North German power metal legends MOB RULES have dropped their latest visual assault with the premiere of “Dawn Of Second Sun,” the crushing new single from their highly anticipated studio album “Rise Of The Ruler”, set to devastate speakers worldwide on August 22nd via ROAR!
The epic new track marks the cinematic conclusion of the band’s ambitious four-part video series, bringing their dystopian narrative full circle as exiled warriors return to the foreboding Temple of Two Suns. Frontman Klaus Dirks reveals the creative inspiration behind the track: “Dawn Of Second Sun also marks the epic conclusion of our four-part cinematic video series. In this final chapter, the exiled return to the ominous ‘Temple of Two Suns.’ Musically, there are some Iron Maiden influences shining through in terms of epic and composition.”
After a seven-year hiatus since their last studio effort, MOB RULES returns with vengeance on “Rise Of The Ruler” – the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s chart-crushing “Beast Reborn” (which peaked at #37 in Germany and #59 in Switzerland). This isn’t just another metal album; it’s a conceptual masterpiece that continues the dystopian saga first explored on the band’s foundational releases “Savage Land” (1999) and “Temple Of Two Suns” (2000).
The album’s narrative, crafted by keyboardist Jan Christian Halfbrodt, plunges listeners into a hostile end-time world where resources are scarce and survival is everything. This conceptual thread weaves through all eleven tracks, creating an immersive experience that showcases MOB RULES at their creative peak.
“Rise Of The Ruler” was mixed and mastered by the legendary Markus Teske (Vanden Plas, The New Roses), ensuring the album’s sonic assault hits with maximum impact. The record also features a stunning collaboration with Ulli Perhonen (Snow White Blood) on the haunting duet “On The Trail.”
