Picture one of the hottest summer days in NJ, sweltering heat, sun beating down and sweaty teenage girls jammed in front of a stage like an alter awaiting for the next generation of glam metal gods. Move over Kiss, Motley Crue and Poison, the new breed of rock stars have arrived and they’re going to kick your asses!

You want dueling guitars, guttural screams, fist pumping, bass thumping on a hotter than hell day, you got it with Black Veil Brides. Notably missing for the Vans Warped Tour has been the band’s trademark grease paint make-up as they are now stripped down and raw during these shows.

BVB exploded onto the stage with “I am Bulletproof” and didn’t look back in their 35 minute set. The diehard fans know all the words and sing along during the choruses. From there they went on to “Shadow Die,” “Let You Down”, and “Wretched and Divine.” Their songs are vengeful, angry, yet commercial. Andy’s vocal’s change up from singing to full-blown screaming in the blink of an eye like on Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell.”

Jinx and Jake Pitts are the dueling maestros who play off each other nicely, never missing a note as they throw themselves across the stage. Ashley Purdy, bassist, and second in command whips the crowd into a frenzy and points to teenage girls to lift their tops. CC Coma provides the rhythm that sets the band in motion. Remarkable highlights shined through on their anthems “Fallen Angels” from Set the World on Fire and “In the End” off Wretched and Divine.

See these guys sooner than later in these smaller festival settings when they are stripped down and raw, otherwise you will find yourself in the nose bleeds area seats in the next few years. After the Warped Tour BVB are will be touring with Bullet for My Valentine this October.
