SPIDER’S LAST HURRAH!

The 1980’s boogie rock merchants Spider will reform for a one-off final gig at the Santa Pod* race track in the UK on;

8th October 2016.

Spider were a British NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) band from Liverpool that formed in 1976. The band were often compared toStatus Quo and offered an upbeat sound, which was described as boogie rock. Spider released three albums in the 10 years they were together, titled Rock ‘n’ Roll Gypsies (1982)Rough Justice (1984) and Raise the Banner (For Rock ‘n’ Roll) (1986)  They toured relentlessly around the UK, regularly packing out the Marquee club in London’s Wardour Street, and supporting such greats as Uriah Heep and The Gillan Band (where they struck up a lasting friendship with one Janick Gers!)

Spider are :

Colin Harkness – lead vocals, guitar

Dave “Sniffa” Bryce – guitar, backing vocals

Brian Burrows – bass, backing vocals

Rob E. Burrows – drums

Tickets are priced at £15 which includes admission to the Santa Pod GTI Festival the following day plus camping for those wishing to stay overnight.
