Interview by Robert Cavuoto
Fame on Fire will release their sophomore album Welcome to the Chaos on July 22nd via Hopeless Records.
Welcome to the Chaos is an incredibly diverse and powerful album and the perfect follow-up to their 2020 debut release, Levels. Bryan Kuznitz [vocals], Blake Saul [guitar], Alex Roman [drums], and Paul Spirou [bass] set a new precedent for genre alchemy by whittling down 200 song ideas to 50 and eventually getting the perfect thirteen that crossed all boundaries of rock, metal, thrash, and hip hop. Welcome to the Chaos is a personal and introspective look into the dark recesses of Bryan’s mind when it comes to lyric writing, and the title track sets the tone of the album and sums up his methodology. Blake and Paul punch you in the chest with the guitar and bass while Alex kicks you in the ass with his drums.
Songs like “Plastic Heart” and “Cut Throat” explode with the crunchy, rousing guitar and fiery vocals. The album doesn’t let up until the ruthless closing riff of “Dead or Alive.” The band will be touring with One OK Rock and You Me at Six this fall. Dates and tickets can be found here: https://www.fameonfireband.com/
I had the pleasure of speaking with Bryan Kuznitz about the creation of Welcome to the Chaos, how he locks himself away in a dark room to access lyrics, and how the band demo’ed 200 songs to gleam the best thirteen on the album!
