Heroes & Monsters is a new band comprised of three raucous rockers; Todd Kerns [bassist/vocalist] of Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Will Hunt [drums] of Evanescence, and Stef Burns [guitar] of Y&T and Alice Cooper fame. They have joined forces to deliver their self-titled debut album, which will be released on January 20, 2023, via Frontiers Music Srl.
Heroes & Monsters have doubled down on the power of three with their tightly wound riffs, rhythmic fury drumming, and pushed-to-the-edge vocals making this album everything you would expect from musicians of their caliber.
Todd plays bass and takes on lead vocals to deliver fast, aggressive, and melodic songs with thought-provoking lyrics. At the same time, Stef’s thunderous fretwork raises the bar as Will gives us his monstrous percussive and stylistic playing.
The album is a testament to these multi-talented musicians’ rebellious spirit that drive these finely crafted songs. The album is packed with songs that offer big riffs and even bigger grooves, like “Raw Power,” “Let’s Ride It,” and “Locked & Loaded.”
It was a pleasure speaking with Todd Kerns about the album’s creation, the power of three, the importance of the band’s chemistry, a potential tour, and an update on Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Please follow My Global Mind on Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, and subscribe to their YouTube channel.
A new power trio formed by bassist/vocalist Todd Kerns, guitarist Stef Burns and drummer Will Hunt, the self-titled debut album by Heroes And Monsters is stuffed with hard-hitting, hooky, in-your-face rock n’ roll that acknowledges the past while being firmly of the present. Kerns is best known for his ongoing tenure in Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, but has also fronted the Canadian acts The Age Of Electric and Toque. The versatile Burns has played with rockers Y&T and Alice Cooper as well as pop artists like Sheila E., Berlin and Huey Lewis & The News. Hunt has been the drummer in Evanescence since 2007, while the in-demand skinsman has also performed with the likes of Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Staind, Slaughter played on albums by Black Label Society, Michael Sweet (Stryper), Dirty Shirley (George Lynch) and more.
