On May 3rd, 2023, the Pennsylvania-based rock band Breaking Benjamin performed at the First Bank Amphitheater in Franklin, TN, as part of their North American Spring tour with Bush. The outdoor venue was packed with fans eagerly awaiting. Opening the show was Another Day Dawns, a high-energy hard rock band that was established in 2010 by drummer Nick McGeehan and guitarist Tyler Ritter of Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Setting the tone for the night preparing the crowd for two huge names in the industry. A.D.D. played their original music for a 25 min set with vocals very similar to Johnathan Davis of Korn.

Bush took the stage for a highly anticipated performance. The band, led by charismatic frontman Gavin Rossdale, delivered a high-energy show that had the audience singing and dancing along from start to finish. Bush immediately established their presence on stage and had the whole crowd jamming out to hit after hit. Rossdale’s powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence were on full display, as he interacted with the crowd and commanded the stage with ease. The band’s musicianship was also top-notch, with drummer Robin Goodridge and bassist Corey Britz providing a strong backbone for the group’s signature grunge-inspired sound. Throughout the night, Bush treated the crowd to a mix of their biggest hits and newer material, showcasing the range and depth of their catalog. “Glycerine,” “Comedown,” and “Everything Zen” were all crowd favorites, with Rossdale’s soaring vocals and catchy guitar riffs eliciting enthusiastic cheers and sing-alongs. The band also played several tracks from their latest single, “All Things Must Change,” including the hard-hitting “More Than Machines”. Gavin even surprised the crowd by running out in the crowd running up and down the isles hugging, hi-fiving, and shaking hands with the patrons.

As Breaking Benjamin took the stage, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. Frontman Benjamin Burnley was in top form, delivering powerful vocals and engaging with the audience throughout the set. Breaking Benjamin played all of their hits including “Red Cold River,” “Angels Fall,” “I Will Not Bow,” and “Breath,” all classic hits that had the audience singing and jumping along.

One of the highlights of the set was when the band performed “The Diary of Jane,” one of their biggest hits. The crowd sang every word, and the energy in the venue was electric.
Throughout the set, the band played a mix of old and new songs, showcasing their versatility and range. The newer songs, such as “Waiting On The Sky To Change” were well-received by the crowd and demonstrated that the band is still evolving and growing.

Overall, Breaking Benjamin’s performance was outstanding. The band’s energy and passion for their music were evident throughout the set, and Burnley’s vocals were as powerful as ever. The rest of the band, consisting of guitarists Keith Wallen and Jasen Rauch, bassist Aaron Bruch, and drummer Shaun Foist, were equally impressive and showcased their skills throughout the night.

The sound quality was excellent, with the instruments and vocals blending seamlessly to create a powerful and immersive experience for the audience. The light show and stage design were also impressive, adding to the overall atmosphere of the show.
