Big Time Rush threw a blockbuster party in Rockefeller Plaza on The Today Show in New York City on June 2nd to promote their new album Another Life!
You could feel the tension mounting among the Rushers, who got up at a ridiculous hour of the morning to travel to New York from all parts of the country to be a part of this event. Some skipped school while others missed their graduation to celebrate alongside their heroes James Maslow, Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt, and Carlos PenaVega!
As the band appeared on stage to their screaming fans, BTR sat on stools to sing their 2010 hit “Worldwide.” The producers explained this first song would be broadcast as the last song on The Today Show’s third-hour segment. Fans didn’t care what songs they played or the order performed; they were there to see their idols and relive a simpler time when they watched Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon.
The boys have not lost a step in the years since their show ended, as they sang perfectly and danced their way into the hearts of their fans. The four members continuously brought unseen energy and enthusiasm during this crowd-pleasing event. It was a testament to their passion and dedication that they reunited and are back on tour this summer. During commercial breaks and interview segments, they took selfies, gave hugs, and signed autographs for the adoring fans.
Big Time Rush performed a handful of songs that included a shortened version of “Paralyzed,” with James and Logan taking center stage on vocals, followed by a shortened version of “Til I Forget About You,” with Kendall and Carlos taking the vocal spotlight. It was a constant early morning sing-along by this enthusiastic crowd as the band performed “Boyfriend” and “Waves” from their new album Another Life.
Before the show, a producer for the concert said the goal was to make the rest of the country jealous that they were not there in person to witness the event. Both the band and fans delivered on that request tenfold!
