Ahh, what’s a Saturday night without some much-needed outrageous fun? The band that perfectly embodies the obscene and gives new meaning to all kinds of lewd behavior. That’s Steel Panther, redefined and full frontal without any limitations.
The guys from SP have made it a decades-long career in the Rock business playing this way, and proving people wrong again and again, touring the world, and yet to this day still bring all the fun they can into their live shows. There is the reason they are still around today. Fans will always have some affinity towards 80’s Hard Rock, Sleaze, Glamour Rock the looks, the vibes, the insert any expletive you like here. Steel Panther knows no bounds when it comes to their music, and their unclean lyrics, yet to their credit, they are really good musicians live, Satchel is a terrific shredder, Michael Starr is a true showman, and the constant comedic banter on stage is fun and will always make you laugh.
Listen if you come to a live show from the Panther, you already know what to expect. I promise you once you enter, you will leave a different person. The guys brought their special On the Prowl worldwide tour for the first time, to the rocket city, Huntsville at The Mars Music Hall, and boy was the crowd in for some sights.
Once Michael Starr hits the floor, and the lyrics to “Eyes of a Panther” come out, you know you have entered the party zone. Later followed by the rocker “Death to All But Metal”, while smoothing things over for the nostalgic grooves of “1987”. The ever-constant comedic trade-off between the band members is fun comedic gold, never gets old, and will no doubt bring a smile to your face.
The all-time Panther classic jam “Community Property” brings an array of guests on stage, a sight that beholds all the keen eyes closely fixed on center stage. Let the party continue by all means.
Yea, you think I forgot to mention the brave souls of women who get on stage and decide to give the audiences “a show”, let’s not forget the ladies that always have a special connection to the band members. Thank you for your service.
All in all, here is yet another band that sticks to what they do best, they embrace their image, they don’t take themselves seriously at all, and just want to have fun. They are good musicians who have found a niche that works for them. One thing you will never dare to utter is that you didn’t have FUN at a Steel Panther show. Good job Huntsville, you passed the test.
