Shooting at Oklahoma State Fair Cuts Vince Neil’s Set Short

Shooting at Oklahoma State Fair Cuts Vince Neil’s Set Short...

One person was shot and two individuals were taken into police custody in what’s being calling an “isolated incident” in the parking lot of the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. It was an unfortunate situation that cut short plenty of people’s evening this past Saturday, including the solo set of Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil.

News of his set getting stopped midway through began making the rounds after Neil posted to Twitter that he was three quarters of the way through his show when fans began running and the band was told to hunker down in their dressing room.

At a concert in Oklahoma City Crazy night last night. 3/4 of the way thru the set people started running. We we’re told to get in dressing room. There were shooters shooting people. Thank you fans for your understanding.

According to news reports after the fact, Oklahoma City police revealed that one person was “shot in the chest after a fight occurred in the Bennett Event Center.” The victim was taken to a local hospital where they were said to be in critical condition. While that’s distressing enough, Lt. Jeff Cooper of the Oklahoma City Police Department said one of the individuals arrested as a result of the shooting was a juvenile.

Now, in almost any other circumstance, I’d make the joke that his set getting cut short was a merciful twist of fate, but that’s not going to happen here. People were hurt and it’s a good thing no one else was injured as a result of the shooting.
