The Southern Rockers Saving Abel are back in business and ready to bring their catchy melodies to a city near you. The guys no stranger to success are back with their original singer and one of its founders vocalist Jared Weeks. They released a new single earlier in the year “Baptize Me” and their new single “Fire” and video have been gaining traction lately, the band has been greasing their wheels aching to get back at it.

It was cool to be able to sort of catch this warm-up show, which almost didn’t happen as the guy’s flight from Las Vegas was delayed and they only got to the venue a few minutes before the show was scheduled to begin. Props to them for kicking ass on hardly any sleep. Also good to see Jared is back with the band, he was very outspoken about his struggles in the past which led him to leave Saving Abel. He has found a new path and is back on now and fans couldn’t be happier. Together with new music and a new tour, they are ready to blaze the fires across the nation the for the sake of Rock.

The venue here is on the Toyota Field, not on the actual field but on the edge of the concourse at the baseball field. For as many shows as we usually cover, this was the first time for me to cover a live music event here. I will say it was cool to have the Trash Pandas video/camera folks there covering this as well as their house photographer. Be sure to catch the string of fall concert series they have going on this month and their highlights from this show as well.

The guys got ready to hit the stage and right away you couldn’t tell any lack of sleep was impacting their performance, they put on a great show. Jared still sounds great and the new songs sound great live. The old classics like “Addicted”, and “18 Days” all get some airplay here. On this chilly night, is obvious the winds of change are coming with Saving Abel, and they look more than happy to be back in the fold of things. After an hour and a half set, reminiscing on some of these old classics, it was all but a wrap. Nice job going down memory lane for some of us older Rockers. The seven-year gap here is nothing but a number, as the guys sound great live and no doubt still have the fire burning in them to keep doing this. Be sure to catch them on tour from October through the end of the year, coming to a city near you.

About Saving Abel:

Saving Abel is a Southern rock band with catchy hooks and heavy riffs founded by Jared Weeks and Jason Null. Their first single “Addicted” broke onto the scene, climbing its way quickly into a cross-over hit from mainstream rock to Billboard Hot 100 and Top 40. With millions of sales under their belt, it’s easy to see how their self-titled debut album charted on Billboard’s Top 50 and became RIAA-certified multi-platinum. Their debut album delivered two more #1 singles with “18 days” and “Drowning (Face Down),” across multiple charts and solidified this band’s name in rock. Their sophomore album ‘Miss America’ did not disappoint and followed down the same path their debut record had set. After five Top 10 Billboard charting releases, Saving Abel went back into the studio for their third record ‘Bringing Down The Giant.’ They released the title track from that album finding success and breaking the top 10 on multiple charts. After a seven-year gap, Weeks reunited with Saving Abel and released the single “Baptize Me” in April 2023 and are back with their latest single “Fire” released in August of 2023.
