In preparation for the 2024 tour with a focus on Van Halen, Sammy Hagar has enlisted Joe Satriani, his fellow guitarist from Chickenfoot. The lineup will also include Hagar’s Circle bandmates, bassist Michael Anthony, and drummer Jason Bonham. Dubbed the Best of All Worlds tour, the event is scheduled to commence on July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and conclude on Aug. 31 in St. Louis. Loverboy is set to open the shows, and tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday.

During a recent discussion with Howard Stern, Hagar emphasized the tour’s goal of delving deep into the Van Halen catalog, underscoring the necessity of Joe Satriani’s involvement. While Hagar and Anthony typically feature “five or six Van Halen songs” in their Circle performances, this time, they plan to mix in “five or six of my songs” alongside Van Halen classics and lesser-known tracks.

Reflecting on the almost 20-year gap since his 2004 reunion with Eddie and Alex Van Halen, Hagar expressed a sense of urgency to share the music with fans. The inspiration for the tour stemmed from Hagar’s involvement in the recently released Collection II Van Halen box set. He also shared excitement about including specific deep cuts, such as “Seventh Seal” and “Amsterdam,” in the setlist.

Michael Anthony added that the upcoming tour would showcase songs not performed since the 2004 reunion. Joe Satriani acknowledged the challenge of learning the iconic Van Halen catalog but conveyed his enthusiasm for the task. He highlighted Eddie Van Halen’s ever-evolving and improvisational style, finding it thrilling and fun to delve into the guitarist’s live performances and capture the essence of his musical evolution.
