Abandon All, originating from Finland in 2020, has swiftly etched its presence onto the metal canvas. Boasting six singles, a full-length album, and their latest EP, the band unfolds a tapestry of musical prowess and finesse.

The EP commences with a captivating overture in ‘The Wolf And Owl,’ propelling us into a tumultuous and resonant rocker steered by Havukainen’s double-kick rhythm. The addition of Capri from Amberian Dawn on vocals adds a distinct layer of sophistication. ‘Strong,’ the subsequent track, unveils a Judas Priest-inspired introduction, featuring a robust chugging riff that provides the perfect canvas for Sommer’s commanding vocal performance. ‘Fake You’ follows suit, unraveling another melodic metal jewel with a dynamic rhythm and Nygren’s melodic lines, complemented by robust backing vocals.

The EP crescendos with the exquisite instrumental ‘37500,’ a showcase of Nygren’s fluid and dexterous guitar proficiency. It’s an exhibition of musical artistry that eschews flamboyance for a deeper, resonant impact.

While it admittedly took a couple of listens to fully grasp the intricacies of Abandon All’s work, the revelation was nothing short of a delightful surprise. The EP stands as a testament to the band’s ability to weave intricate hooks and melodies, elevated by the expansive and bold production. This release unquestionably adds a touch of elegance to any discerning metal enthusiast’s collection.
