PAIN Unveils Ninth Album ‘I Am’ with Electrifying Single ‘Go With The Flow’ Featuring Peter Stormare

PAIN Returns with 80's Synth Pop Vibes in 'Go With The Flow,' the Lead Single from Upcoming Album 'I Am'...

PAIN are announcing their new album I Am, which will be released on May 17 via Nuclear Blast Records

With the first single “Go With The Flow,” the Swedish industrial project set the tone for their upcoming ninth album. Accompanied by a high-quality video featuring actor Peter Stormare (Palme d’Or awarded Dancer in the Dark, FargoPrison BreakThe Big Lebowski) and Peter Tägtgren, PAIN make a triumphant return.

Tägtgren comments, “‘Go With The Flow’ is taking me back to ’80’s synth pop. It was an idea I had for a while to write in more of that direction, so I was taking out analog synths and going crazy, and of course I needed to come back to a catchy Pain chorus. [The] hardest part was to write lyrics to the song, and to figure out what style to use to sing. The lyrics are about me, always being negative and the need to let things go when they don’t go as planned, and brush it off and move on.”

In 2021, amid a global pandemic, music enthusiast Peter Tägtgren defies the gloom with the infectious “Party in My Head” from his project PAIN. Despite a chaotic world, PAIN is thriving, gearing up for the release of the eagerly anticipated album “I Am” after an eight-year hiatus. Tägtgren reflects on a whirlwind of musical endeavors in recent years, from Hypocrisy to collaborations with Till Lindemann and Joe Lynn Turner. “I Am” is described as a versatile musical journey, marked by industrial riffs, melancholic vibes, and surprising twists. Tägtgren, aiming for more intensity, tempo, and industrial atmosphere, also involves his son in the creative process. While “Go With the Flow” stands out as a unique surprise, the overall theme of the album leans towards darkness, mirroring the challenging times. Despite the sarcasm and gloom, PAIN plans an extensive tour to support the record, embracing a busy future in the unpredictable music landscape.
