Andy Wood, the renowned instrumental guitarist, is poised on the cusp of greatness with the release of his highly anticipated new album, Charisma, due out on August 8th.

Known for his masterful command of the guitar, Andy has consistently wowed listeners with his signature style of fast, smooth, and melodic compositions that showcase his virtuosic fretboard skills. Each of his previous releases has been a testament to his unparalleled technical prowess and creative vision, and Charisma is no exception. Fans can expect a musical journey filled with blistering, high-octane guitar work that seamlessly blends melodic riffs with intricate solos. Charisma offers listeners diverse musical styles, from bluegrass to country to rock to smooth jazz to Van Halen. Andy’s ability to craft instrumental pieces that are both technically complex and emotionally evocative has solidified his reputation as a dynamic and compelling guitarist. With Charisma, he once again pushes the boundaries of what is possible on the instrument, delivering a captivating and immersive listening experience that will leave his devoted fanbase in awe.

It was a pleasure speaking with Andy about his new release. In my interview, he shares that the album has been in development since COVID, with many of the songs being inspired by the passing of his Father and Granddad! He shares the challenges of evoking emotion from his songs but ultimately leaves it up to the listener to find their own emotional journey to the music. He also provides insights into the creation of his instrumental version of “Rooster” by Alice in Chain. If that weren’t enough, Andy capped off the interview with a ripping performance of Van Halen’s “Poundcake.” Please follow My Global Mind on Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, and subscribe to their YouTube channel.
