It’s a busy time in the Underworld as GWAR plans to wreak havoc on society, unleashing a new multimedia release to celebrate their 40th Anniversary with The Return of Gor Gor EP and comic on July 25, 2025, via Pit Records/Z2 Comics.

A multi-format assault on the eyes and ears that includes a brand-new EP with three new studio songs and four live tracks coupled with a 32-page comic detailing the epic return of Gor Gor, GWAR’s long-lost, three-ton Tyrannosaurus Rex. The new songs range from thrash metal to carnival-inspired chaos to epic metal, all laced with GWAR’s signature punk attitude. The new songs are tied to the comic’s storyline.

The tombs of the Underworld trembled with delight as Mischief Toys and GWAR forged an unholy alliance to deliver the Minion Gastley’s figure, a hideously charming abomination mutated by the wicked will of the Scumdogs.

If that wasn’t enough for you, the Scumdogs are currently rampaging across North America on their 40th Anniversary Tour.

Prepare for a raucous and unfiltered interview full of carnage and sputum as Grodius discusses the band’s new EP. He boasts proudly that it is a “sampler platter” born of excessive ketamine, cocaine, and musical collaboration.

Grodius touched on his own contributions, emphasizing that while the writing was collaborative, the guitar tone was heavily influenced by his custom “Star Destroyer” guitar. To help achieve the perfect musical chemistry with guitarist BälSäc, each guitar take would revolve around an open mouth kiss.

Grodius recalled how reluctant he was to join GWAR in 2024, but with the band’s continuous begging and pleading, including outrageous promises that have not been fulfilled, he quickly became the band’s dominant force.

We close the interview with a reminder for their shows that while fans might want to wear ponchos, there’s no escaping GWAR’s bodily-fluid-soaked experience filled with herpes.
