Genre-defying British metal act Evil Scarecrow are set to release their highly anticipated fifth studio album “Silicon Tea” on October 1, 2025, via Deadbox Records. The announcement comes alongside details of their extensive “Premature Obsolescence Tour”, featuring special guest comedian and musician Andrew O’Neill.
In these uncertain times, Evil Scarecrow deliver exactly what the world needs: a perfect blend of heavy music and absurd humor that tackles both global concerns and everyday frustrations. “Silicon Tea” addresses our relationship with corporate overlords and the potential for software-induced Armageddon, while never losing sight of life’s fundamental challenges – like bad weather at festivals and the eternal mystery of which bin goes out this week.
“We really wanted to write an album that brings together our varied tastes and love for heavy music,” explains Dr Hell. “We have leaned into pop punk with ‘Green Bin Day’, rewound to the 80s with ‘The Future Machine’, and god only knows what genre ‘Welly in the Mud’ is… Brown Metal? I dunno. Anyway, we hope there is something for everyone, or nothing for no-one, or everything for one very weird person. But it’s an album that we, as a band, are very proud of.”
Fans can celebrate the album release at the exclusive “Silicon Tea Party” at Saltbox in Nottingham on October 5. The intimate launch event will feature an album playback, live acoustic set, photo opportunities, and cake. Tickets are available exclusively through the band’s Kickstarter campaign.
The “Premature Obsolescence Tour” will showcase new material from “Silicon Tea” alongside classic Evil Scarecrow theatrics. The band promises new ridiculous props and absurd video concepts, currently being crafted in their legendary ‘Crow’s Nest Garden Shed.
