One of Sweden’s hottest Metal/Extreme metal outfit Amaranthe, has once again hit the Eastern shores of North America, this time for a headlining tour of their own. If you remember last year they jumped aboard opening for the mighty Within Temptation on their western leg of their Hydra World Tour. This was a great booking for Amaranthe as they we’re able to further their enterprise with their exposure to even more fans of metal and target a different audience than usual.

This time around the guys headline their own trails and we welcome them with full embrace through the halls of the hollow Gramercy Theatre.

Opening for Amaranthe are Post Hardcore rockers I Prevail and Finnish Hard Rockers Santa Cruz.

Two bands that provide plenty of energy and electricity on this warm summer night in the big city. Having covered Santa Cruz a few times before, one thing is certain; these guys bring some entertainment with their sound and musicianship is top notch. This night is no different. Perhaps North American fans have found a new Hard Rock to indulge themselves into, one of more underrated bands at the moment.

Amaranthe finally hits the stages, and immediately the crowd is energized with their mix of electric riffing and potent choruses. The fusion of styles between metalcore, metal and pop elements hasn’t bored any fans of the band to this point’ and why should it? It’s a formula that has propelled the young Swedes into touring the World pushing their brand.

Quickly into their set, the band throws in there a crowd favorite “Hunger” and “1,000,000 Light Years” as the title suggests, a blast of beaming influx of sounds come pushing out of the amplifiers in the background. The band ends the night with encore of “Drop Dead Cynical” a new one from their recent record and the closer “The Nexus”. A sure bolt of ecstatic energy to end the night. Curious to see what this leads the band into. Perhaps another record is just around the corner.

Amaranthe will make their triumphant return to North America this spring for a headline tour. This marks the first time the band has cruised through the U.S. and Canada since last fall, when they served as main support for Within Temptation. On this run, fans will enjoy the full Amaranthe experience, as it will be their show.

Since the October 2014 release of ‘Massive Addictive,’ which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, Amaranthe have gained steady momentum, with the addictively catchy single “Drop Dead Cynical” enjoying an exciting wave of success, garnering major spins at SiriusXM’s Octane and currently climbing the Active Rock radio charts.
