Bon Jovi song ‘Unbroken’ pays tribute to U.S. veterans, the service dogs who help them

Singles “Unbroken” and “Limitless” have already been released, the latter came out just this week and the video can be seen below.

If you’re in London today (February 28th)… “Unbroken” will be re-recorded with members of a British military veterans’ choir and Prince Harry at the famed Abbey Road Studios. Proceeds from the single will support the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for sick and injured veterans that was founded by the prince.

“The inspiration for the cover of ‘Bon Jovi 2020’ is a photo of John F. Kennedy, taken by Michael Ochs in August of 1962,” the front man said. “It pictures the president reflecting both literally and figuratively upon a crowd in California. I saw this photo and wondered what the president was thinking. Since there are so many socially conscious songs on the record and my admiration of the photo of JFK, I asked photographer Clay McBride to capture it as the cover of ‘Bon Jovi 2020.’”

McBride is a New York City-based photographer whose credits include portraits of LeBron James, Allen Iverson, Norah Jones and Kid Rock.

“2020,” Bon Jovi’s follow up to 2016’s “This House Is Not for Sale,” will have more “socially conscious” themes, the singer has said, including gun control, veterans’ issues, politics, the meaning of family and more.

“It encompasses life, love, and loss,” he said in a statement.

The band has announced an 18-date U.S. Bon Jovi 2020 Tour starting June 10 in Tacoma, Washington, and will end with shows July 27 and 28 at Madison Square Garden.

The album is available for pre-order. Visit bonjovi.com for more information.

Lyrics:

LIMITLESS Jon Bon Jovi, John Shanks, Billy Falcon

Wake up, everybody wake up

Here we go

it’s just another day

another buzz another beep

scrub your face

and brush your teeth

out the door

into the street

I fell out of my sleep

a million different faces

all from different places

swimming in the sea

trying to keep your head above water

trying to keep your head above water

on a night like this

one prayer one wish

step out off the edge

It’s worth the risk

life is limitless limitless

wake up, everybody wake up

morning comes you do it all again

you know the song it’s on repeat

found your shoes can’t find your feet

grab your wallet and your keys

better not forget to breathe

sweat until your soaking

don’t let them see you choking

a teardrop in the sea

trying to keep your head above water

trying to keep your head above water

on a night like this

one prayer one wish

step out off the edge

it’s worth the risk

life is limitless limitless

life is limitless limitless

Left to figure out

what it’s all about

when the sun comes up

and the sun goes down

is there something more

than it was before

there’s an open door

what are you waiting for

life is limitless limitless

on a night like this

one prayer one wish

step out off the edge

it’s worth the risk

on a night like this

one touch one kiss

step out off the edge

it’s worth the risk

life is limitless limitless

life is limitless limitless
