Ever wonder what it would be like to hear one of your favorite band’s lost albums from 37 years ago? Talas is making that happen by hopping in their time-traveling DeLorean and flipping the switch to 1985. The band will release their powerful new album, 1985, on September 23 via Metal Blade Records.

Formed in the early ’70s and dissolved in 1985, Talas may have never reached arena-headlining status, but they were an integral part of the early ’80s hard rock scene. The members changed a few times during their career, but now they are back with their long-awaited album that does not disappoint. Members Billy Sheehan [bass], Mark Miller [drums], Kire Najdovski [guitar], and Phil Naro [vocals] deliver infectious groove-oriented songs from the past like opener “Inner Mounting Flame” and “I’ll Take the Night” to the ethereal bass instrumental “71Hd h” which is a dedication to Phil who passed away in 2021. Phil sang all the tracks, knowing his time here on Earth was limited as a testament to his strength and determination to leave this album to his fans! This album is truly special and sure to have old-school fans salivating and new fans fired up. Order 1985 here: metalblade.com/talas

It was a pleasure to interview bass legend of Talas, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth Band, Sons of Apollo, and The Winery Dogs about Talas’s new release of 1985. In my deep dive interview, Billy shares the history behind creating 1985, losing Phil in 2021, if fans can expect a Talas tour, his thoughts if a David Lee Roth Eat ‘Em and Smile tour will ever come to fruition, and what fans can expect from The Winery Dogs’ third studio album coming late 2022/early 2023!
