Knoxville’s “The Mill & Mine” hosted an excellent evening of rockin homegrown music featuring Larkin Poe with Goodnight Texas opening to the nearly sold-out crowd of dedicated fans. From the first song to the final encore of the night everyone rocked out to the tunes of both bands.
Goodnight Texas opened with a great set of 9 songs that revved up the atmosphere perfectly for a Larkin Poe concert. Their high energy folk rock music kept the audience completely engaged.
Larkin Poe, a sister duo of Megan and Rebecca Lovell with two accompanying band members on bass guitar and drums poured out their hearts to the audience with their southern roots rock lyrics and bluesy guitar dominated songs.
This was the second night of their 2023 “Blood Harmony Tour”, which featured six songs from their newest album Blood Harmony (2022). The new album has a deeper southern bayou flavor to it that brings in even more of Megan’s masterful slide guitar skills add in Rebecca’s unique powerful lead guitar and irresistible vocals and ya have the evolution of the sister’s music genre to genus that keeps expanding and never gets old.
Larkin Poe opened with Strike Gold from the new album, which got the crowd going never stopping for a breath right through the final encore song Deep Stays Down from the album too. All and all, Larkin Poe’s 90 minute sixteen song set was superb and definitely thrilled their fans.
The “Blood Harmony Tour” ends in Atlanta on April 1st for the USA, then it heads off to Australia and New Zealand for several shows in April, following a break for summer festivals, it then resumes in October for shows across Europe.
