The mighty Saxon will release their second album of cover songs, More Inspirations, via Silver Lining Music on March 24th, 2023.

More Inspirations contains ten songs that influenced Saxon and helped fuel their success and is a following up to their 2021 release of Inspirations. It is the second serving of their influences. The release contains songs by KISS, The Who, Alice Cooper, and Rainbow, to name just a few. Whether this is your first dance with such classic songs, or you have come to see where Saxon were born, More Inspirations delivers the goods and then some.

Saxon was one of the bands in the late 70s and early 80s who led the charge for the “New Wave of British Heavy Metal” and were responsible for penning some of the most enduring metal anthems of our time, like “Denim & Leather,” “Strong Arm of the Law,” “Power and the Glory,” and “Princess of the Night.” Biff Byford [vocals], Doug Scarratt [guitar], Paul Quinn [guitar], Nibbs Carter [bass], and Nigel Glockler [drums] are taking fans on a fascinating journey back into Saxon’s musical history. On the heels of this release, Saxon announced that guitarist Paul Quinn would be stepping down from touring but will remain a member for writing and jumping on stage for possible shows.

Saxon’s More Inspirations is available on 12″ Black Vinyl, CD Digipak, digital formats, and special D2C bundles; to pre-order, go to:

Speaking with Biff Byford about their newest release is always a pleasure! During our conversation, Biff shares how these songs influenced Saxon, how he would consider a club tour to play the covers songs from Inspirations and More Inspirations, the band is currently writing their next studio album for release in 2024 and the decision for Paul to step down from touring.
