Nu-Metal band Sevendust from Atlanta, Georgia was established in ‘94 and went on to have a successful career with 13 studio album releases and a DVD.

Their self titled album Sevendust, produced by guitarist Jay Jay French of Twisted Sister, was at 165 on the Billboard Top 200 for 16 weeks and the following year was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Sevendust had two other albums go gold as well. Not only that, Sevendust’s song “My Ruin” was featured on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack in November of ‘96.

In 2016 at the 58th Grammy’s, Sevendust’s song “Thank You” was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Metal Performance”.  Vocalist Lajon Witherspoon stated “Thank You” serves as a testament to all that the band and their fans has been through, as stated by The Engine Room Audio. Their career has been full, and they aren’t done yet.

On July 28th,  Sevendust has released Truth Killer, their fourteenth full-length studio album. Produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette of Alter Bridge, Trivium, and Slash- the quality of this record is phenomenal and we expected nothing less.

We look forward to seeing them on tour starting August 1st, 2023 in Buffalo, New York. They will be shredding it heavy until their last tour stop in Los Angeles, California on November 1st, 2023.

Sevendust will be hitting up all your favorite venues across the United States alongside Alter Bridge and Static-X. In the past, they’ve worked with members of Alter Bridge, Deftones, Daughtry, Staind, Periphery, Xzibit- all of which are noteworthy and iconic collaborations.

In full, Truth Killer is a fantastic industrial metal album and is expected to be well received. The entire album has a nice 2000’s feel to it. It showcases that classic nu-metal sound, heavy and sensual.  Album titled track “Truth Killer” delivers fierce melodic riffs, setting the tone for the entirety of the release . “Fence”, “Everything”, “Superficial Drug”, and “Messenger” are all definitive tracks. Each track delivers emotional lyricism and a strong performance from Lajon Witherspoon, never failing to deliver vocal brilliance.

It’s a powerful record with beautiful vocals, heavy hitting riffs, technical drumming more tighter than a click track, and solid bass.

Programming was done by Lowery, which he stated to be pleased with having done himself as opposed to hiring an outside programmer.  Lajon Witherspoon, Clint Lowery, John Connolly, Morgan Rose, and Vince Hornsby delivered a fantastic release.  Sevendust’s debut release for Napalm Records Truth Killer is overall very well done.
