I don’t receive many packages from the US state of North Carolina, but here we have one from that state. The best band ever to emerge from North Carolina was and still is SUGARCREEK, and despite it’s hard to beat those legendary AOR/pomprockers, PAGEANT delivers a high class piece of pure 80s Melodic Hardrock/Hair Metal as if we turned back the clock to the year 1988! They were formed during the covid period, and now they welcome us their first album Walkin’ The Line.

The trio consists of Roxxi Dirt on bass and vocals, Dylan Dynasty on drums, and Dezzy Foxx on lead guitar, and actually they are closer to Sleazy Hardrock of the late 80s era than the more melodic polished glamrocksound of bands like POISON, MOTLEY CRUE and PRETTY BOY FLOYD. PAGEANT sounds tougher with a certain sound that reminds me a lot of bands like DOGS D’AMOUR, CATS’N’BOOTS, BRITNY FOX, KIX, HORSE LONDON, TATTOOED LOVE BOYS, GUNS’N’ROSES, ZODIAC MINDWARP and even a bit BLACK’N’BLUE. This is raw, dirty mean and straight in your face ballsy classic sleazy hardrock with a focus on hard hiting guitars and strong vocals, while the catchy choruses are easy to sing-a-long to.

A total of 8 tracks are included, and from start to finish this is an enjoyable journey that has it’s highlights during Voodoo Kiss, Walkin’ The Line (RATT meets DOKKEN) and Better Things Coming. Without a doubt, a highly recommended band to fans of aforementioned bands.
