A Perfect Circle, Primus, and Puscifer converged for their Sessanta tour, commemorating Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday in Franklin, Tennessee, on April 10th, 2024. Keenan, renowned for his enigmatic presence in the music scene, was front and center for this unique event. Sessanta broke away from the conventional concert format: no headliner, no opening acts. Instead, all three bands shared the stage simultaneously, rotating through their respective setlists.

The evening unfolded in three acts, each featuring 2-4 songs from each band in rotation. A highlight was the Sessanta E.P.P.P, debuting fresh tracks from all three groups, culminating in a collective rendition of Puscifer’s “Grand Canyon.” It was an unconventional twist on the typical concert experience, warmly embraced by the audience.

Act 1 commenced with A Perfect Circle, delivering three beloved tracks, including selections from their 2018 album “Eat the Elephant.” Carina Round joined for “Disillusioned” and “The Contrarian.” Primus followed with a four-song set, featuring a standout performance by special guest Billy Strings on “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver.” Puscifer rounded off Act 1 with “Galileo,” “Tiny Monsters,” and “Indigo Children.”

Act 2 began with Primus’s classics, “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver,” “My Name is Mud,” and “Tommy the Cat,” with Keenan joining in on vocals for the latter. Puscifer then took the stage for four electrifying numbers, while A Perfect Circle closed Act 2 with an energetic set, including crowd favorites like “So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.”

Act 3 saw Puscifer returning with a haunting rendition of “The Humbling River.” A Perfect Circle contributed “Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums” and “Judith,” while Primus concluded Act 3 with “Southbound Pachyderm” and a mesmerizing three-drummer solo, leading into the debut of new singles from each band.

The grand finale featured the Sessanta E.P.P.P singles and an explosive jam session culminating in “Grand Canyon.” Maynard James Keenan then invited the audience to capture the moment, marking a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable celebration.

Sessanta proved to be a masterful blend of talent, offering a fresh perspective on live music. For fans of all three acts, it was a must-see event, encapsulating the essence of Maynard James Keenan’s legendary career.
