Founded in 2007 by members of metal royalty (Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Mean Streak), The Night Flight Orchestra has evolved from a passion project into a Grammy-nominated powerhouse, collecting three Swedish Grammis nods along their journey. Now, their latest offering “Give us the Moon” proves why they’ve earned the right to open for KISS at their final Swedish shows at the legendary Dalhalla.

The real magic here lies in frontman Björn Strid‘s vocal sorcery. His ability to pivot from Soilwork‘s metal assault to TNFO‘s smooth AOR crooning is nothing short of supernatural – it’s like watching a Viking warrior transform into Tom Jones, and somehow both personas feel equally authentic.

Among the album’s stratospheric highlights, “Shooting Velvet” emerges as an instant classic, destined to join their festival setlists at Wacken Open Air, Alcatraz, and Bloodstock. Meanwhile, “Paloma” serves as the album’s emotional anchor, a romance-soaked journey that’s already captivating audiences through its music video.

The grand finale, “Stewardess, Empress, Hot Mess (And the Captain Of Pain)” is seven minutes of pure rock opera perfection – exactly the kind of epic that explains why this band has successfully bridged the gap between metal credibility and retro rock excellence.

The album doesn’t just flirt with 80s rock – it takes the genre on a champagne-fueled flight to new heights. What started as a side project has clearly evolved into something much more significant: a band that’s equally at home playing massive metal festivals or channeling their inner ABBA on Swedish television. They haven’t just given us the moon; they’ve given us an entire constellation of groove-laden, synth-soaked excellence that proves why they’re one of Sweden’s most versatile musical exports.
