Jizzy Pearl Channels Dead Kennedys and Suicidal Tendencies on Latest Solo Album ...

Interview : Robert Cavuoto

Jizzy Pearl is back! The unmistakable voice behind Blackout in the Red Room returns with a new album, Punk Rock Fiesta!, on March 1, 2025, via Kenyon Records.

With his seventh solo album, Jizzy Pearl is ready to shake up the music world once again. From the moment you hit play, Jizzy and his band – Darren Housholder [guitar], Christian Kimmett [bass], and Dave Moreno [drums] – grab you by the throat for a relentless sonic assault. Fierce, distorted guitars lay down high-voltage riffs that hit like a punch to the gut, while Jizzy’s signature vocals drip with attitude and rebellious swagger. Anthemic choruses are tailor-made for screaming along at maximum volume. There’s no pretense or posturing here – Punk Rock Fiesta! is as authentic as it gets by a true Rock ‘n’ Roll lifer who’s seen and done it all. If you’re looking for a loud, aggressive, adrenaline-fueled listening experience, look no further than – it’s an all-out assault that takes no prisoners.

Jizzy Pearl shared fascinating insights into the creative process and vision behind his new album, designed to capture and convey a youthful and aggressive attitude. Jizzy revealed that his long-time guitar partner, Darren Householder, initially had some trepidation about fully embracing the punk sound and ethos. However, after immersing himself in influential punk music by Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Kennedys, and Dramarama, Darren was able to channel that spirit and adapt his playing style to match the high-octane madness of Jizzy’s visionary songs. Throughout the interview, Jizzy’s passion for taking creative control shone through. He emphasized how he relishes the opportunity to take the reins when making music, as it allows him to craft a more focused, cohesive artistic statement compared to a democratic band approach with competing visions. At the same time, Jizzy highlighted his adaptability to seamlessly toggle between the all-consuming process of writing and performing with his band one weekend and then shift gears to deliver electrifying performances as the frontman of Quiet Riot the next. This ability to navigate different musical worlds and pour his heart into each project is a testament to Jizzy’s boundless passion and dedication to his craft.
