Out of Gillingham, Kent, UK comes THE ZAC SCHULZE GANG, a band formed in 2020 around front-man Zac Schulze on lead guitar and vocals, his brother Ben Shulze on drums and bassist Ant Greenwell, also on vocals. They have released a few mini EP’s and a live CD, but Straight To It is the official full-length debut album. They are now signed to RUF RECORDS, and without a doubt are delivering a high class and very diverse first album.

The album starts quite rocking with the fast heavy garage rocker The Rocker, while following I Won’t Do This Anymore keeps up the tempo, but in a more melodic heavy blues boogie rock direction, and the same actually goes for High Roller, both featuring some really cool harmonica as played by NIGEL FEIST. Raw to the bone this is how bluesy classic hard rock and roll should sound like! It gets a bit more melodic rocking during Betterland, a sorta radio ready tune. Back to the heavier faster garage rock and roll with Runnin’ Dry, while Angeline is a very interesting sensational semi melodic rocker that somehow sounds like LENNY KRAVITZ meets TYKETTO during the 90s.

Damaged Man picks up the classic 50s rock and roll sound, and this is a very strong uptempo rocker that live should do its work. Actually I have witnessed one of their live gigs during Culemborg Blues in 2024, and they did a great job indeed. Back Again is another faster boogie classic garage rocker (a la THE HIVES), while Turning To Stone is a great groovy soulful DE WOLFF ish rocker with a strong melody. Keep It Up is a great garage rocker with strong vocalwork and closing track Things Change is a very nice power ballad.

Concluded, ZAC SCHULZE GANG is a band with a bright future, and it has now started with this first studio CD. Also catch them live, because they definitely deliver the goods!
