EVERGREY have returned with their heaviest offering yet. The Swedish progressive metal veterans dropped their explosive new single “OXYGEN!” today, complete with an animated music video that’s as haunting as the track itself.
“OXYGEN!” finds EVERGREY channeling their signature darkness with a renewed ferocity that’s impossible to ignore. The track plunges deep into themes of depression and internal warfare, wrapped in eerie atmospheres and absolutely punishing riffs. This is the band at their most visceral – a desperate, cathartic cry for air amid suffocating turmoil.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as the single arrives just days before EVERGREY hit the road across Europe and the UK alongside fellow Swedish metal masters KATATONIA, with support from Klogr. The massive 32-date tour kicks off Monday, November 10 in Turku, Finland, and runs through a Stockholm homecoming show on December 20.
A Fresh Chapter of Darkness
What makes “OXYGEN!” particularly compelling is the evolution behind it. The band welcomes new drummer Simen Sandnes into the fold, while vocalist/guitarist Tom S. Englund teams up with Vikram Shankar (Within Temptation, Silent Skies) on production duties. The mix comes courtesy of Adam “Nolly” Getgood, whose work with Periphery, Sleep Token, and Architects speaks for itself.
The result? EVERGREY sound as vital and hungry as they did in their early days, but with a decidedly modern edge that hits like a sledgehammer.
