Anathema kicked off their first ever North American tour 3 nights before performing at a SOLD OUT Irving Plaza. The English progressive rockers are touring in support of their soon to be released live CD and DVD “Universal”. This was definitely a highly awaited and special tour as they finally got to perform for their U.S fans with an (almost) complete line-up. The nearly 2 hr. set was a one of a kind performance, fully emotional, and magical throughout. Fans sang along to every single beautiful lyric and were moved by every single melody and note. It was such a sight to see the NYC crowd come together for a magnificent band like Anathema, which of course deserves nothing but respect and appreciation for their outstanding music.

Alcest

The always welcomed French “shoegazers” known as Alcest will once more perform in front of an NYC sold out crowd. With a beautiful, almost dream-like atmosphere they sang along with fans whom saw the French lyrics as magical words, that helped shape a dream world. Their performance of course are nothing but amazing and truly calming. Of course, their appreciation for the fans was known through out the night, as Niege (vocalist) thanked the crowd many times for their support.

Mamiffer

The Duo of Aaron Turner and Faith Coloccia now know as Mamiffer brought a heavy doom vibe to the beginning of the night. Every chord and piano note resonated long and heavily thought out the venue, bringing on a dark and eerie atmosphere along side Faith’s singing, which added and extra touch of doom to the sound. It was as if one could almost feel the vibration of every single note move throughout your body.
