Saxon is currently touring North American with Chris Jericho’s Fozzy for 22 shows from September 12th- October 10th to support their latest CD release – Sacrifice. A hard-hitting anthemic metal CD that captures the true essence of the band, sounding more like a Saxon record from the 80’s.
Their second stop on this tour was at BB Kings in New York. The tour is a rare treat for Saxon fans as it hits many markets that the band has not visited in some time. The band put on a blister 90+ minute set which included fan favorites from their 30+ year catalogue, like “Denim & Leather”, “Wheels Of Steel”, “Princess of the Night”, “Motorcycle Man”, “Power and The Glory” and “Heavy Metal Thunder” all of which have cemented the band’s legendary status in the New British Wave of Heavy Metal! New songs included “Sacrifice”, “Dogs of War”, “Made in Belfast” and “Guardian of the Tomb”. Fifteen great songs in total!
Joining the trek and opening for Saxon was Chris Jericho’s Fozzy who brought their brand of melodic metal to the stage. Fozzy are touring on their most successful album yet, Sin and Bones, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart upon release. They performed eight songs including “Spider in my Mouth”, “Sandpaper”, “Enemy”, and “Sin and Bones”.
