Doll’s Diary is a hard rock band from Rivne, Ukraine. This, their debut album “Hard & Loud” will be released 02 June 2017 via Rockshots Records.

“Hard & Loud” is a combination of classic hard rock, nostalgic melodies, orchestral elements, dramatic arrangements, and video game motives. Doll’s Diary gives us a dramatic hard rock album which starts with the opening track, “Hard Loud”. As the title provides us with a glimpse of what is to come. A pure hard rock style which is played loudly with flamboyant guitars that scream to you to listen to it at the highest volume setting. It will give you the sense as if the band is playing a live private gig in the comfort of your home. Needless to say, it is a very brilliant track.

“Stranger” is a warm song that will remind you of the 1980’s of past. The track features harmonies, guitars and a singing voice which alternates in increasing music swells.

The third track is filled with lots of adrenaline. “Can You Live Without Rock”,  features Pavlo Horechko’s voice reaching the high notes in a perfect symbiosis with the instruments.

“I’m Gonna Be Cool” is a classic hard rock themed track. It is pretty and inspired by bands like Whitesnake. “Whenever I Dream of You” is a good ballad. The great piano intro opens the track with refinement and the romantic composition clearly becomes apparent. I’m not a fan of ballads, but even I have to admit that this track is a pleasing on my ears. The ballad is just a short interlude, as the album quickly picks up the pace with hard rock track “Paradise”.

With thrilling guitars and a good rhythm section, this album doesn’t lose a beat. An example of this is the track “Time”. It is an excellent rock song and when listening to it a few times, I cannot help but find myself singing along.

“Blondie” is one of my favourite tracks of this album. It is powerful, intense and interesting. It is the power before the quiet intro of “It’s Time to Say Goodbye”. It starts out as a ballad but it continues to pick up speed. This track features some swirling guitars and brilliant rhythm section. A very good track. The acoustic version of “Stranger” completes this album. It has some gentle sounds and has a positive sound which features in both versions.

Doll’s Diary is a good rock band and with their album “Hard & Loud”, the band will make an impression on the rock scene.
