Over the last seven years H.E.A.T has established themselves as the young leading band in the melodic rock scene, both in their homeland Sweden and internationally. They have toured and performed in front of thousands and thousands of fans around the world.
With a stunning debut and a show that should have seen the band storm Firefest in 2008 only to have Kenny Leckremo undergo heart surgery at the last minute to address a problem he’d suffered with since the age of 12, my first experience with H.E.A.T saw the band play Firefest sans Kenny with Eclipse’s Erik Martensson stepping up to the breach with just a couple of hours to learn a few key songs and a handful of covers. Until now, that wasthe closest I’d ever managed to get to seeing Kenny sing with the band as shortly after the second album, he stepped down and Erik Grönwall, who in 2009 had won Swedish Idol.
4 albums followed with Erik, countless tours and a stunning reputation as a frontman ensured sold out gigs around the world. But then the unexpected took place and the new guy made way for the original guy and back came Kenny, fitter and healthier than ever and ready to take the crown that was always rightfully his.
To get us ready for a return to Kenny fronted H.E.A.T. check out the latest video from the band, RISE, the original of which can be found on album ” I I ” ;
Fans of H.E.A.T. and Kenny were of course hoping for a tour later this year but as with everything at the moment, nothing is certain and the tour is cautiously moving to 2022.Â
