Liverpool’s 5 piece Hard Rocking outfit Revival Black makes a splashing return with their sophomore release “Under The Light” via the label TMR Rock Records. Categorized as New Wave of Classic Rock is a good way to describe the young band. Although enough with labels, the guys seem to imprint their refined sound I reckon to say. The promising Brits bring soul and firepower with their new album, and with an overall crisp production to boot, they are ready to make waves.

Vocalist Dan Byrne boosts some highs that compliment the band’s rhythm quite well. This here is a patented slab of Classic Rock and Hardened Hard Rock for a new generation of Rockers out there.

The band’s single “Broken Home” instantly stamps itself as a recognizable sound when you hear it the first time. The chunky rhythm and licks leave a mark. The slower ballad of “Hemispheres” features a nice tempo buildup before it picks ups halfway through. A nice rocker ballad midway on the album. The rif-fest party brigade keeps churning over a new league with “Left Of Me” instantly providing a refreshing cut at its core. Byrne’s vocals once more are providing a nice lead here, to compliment the groovy sound.

The album finishes off with another Rocker in “Wrong Side” and “Hurricane”, both mid-tempo rockers that boast nice anthemic choruses and more chunky bass and drums. The latter dipping the groove midway through and guitar solos sparking the tempo shift, a nice way to end the album. A keen roundup of 10 killer tunes to cement the record and final stamp of approval.

Always good to find new talent in the often crowded Hard Rock verse, but these young cats have proven enough to garner more attention. The record was recorded at Liverpool’s famous The Motor Museum studios, and delayed ultimately due to the issues with Vinyl production, is good to finally hear this one. The label TMR Rock Records has promised to keep promoting all the best Hard Rock n Roll talent from the UK and these guys have firmly solidified themselves into the scene quite well. Check them out!!!
