Beastie Boys DJ to Replace Nothing More on Godsmack and Staind Tour

Beastie Boys DJ to Replace Nothing More on Godsmack and Staind Tour...

When it was announced that Nothing More was no longer joining Godsmack and Staind on their U.S. tour later this month, a betting person would have probably thought some butt rock or nu metal act would have taken their place. But nope — they opted for a hip hop DJ.

For most of their tour, Staind and Godsmack will have the Beastie Boys DJ Mix Master Mike as their special guest. He’ll be on the tour until August 13, after which point the final four shows will feature Flat Black, featuring Jason Hood formerly of Five Finger Death Punch.

LINEUP UPDATE Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, @nothingmorerock had to back out of our summer tour lineup last minute. The good news is our boy @mixmastermike of the @beastieboys was able to jumped on board with us and @staind for most of the summer run!

Nothing More dropped off the tour after details of a domestic violence incident that occurred back in December 2021 between their vocalist Jonny Hawkins and his then girlfriend surfaced online. The incident resulted in severe injuries and legal repercussions following the singer’s eventual arrest.

Though the band backed Hawkins, they opted to pull out of the tour “out of respect for Godsmack and Staind … while we deal with matters that are very personal and private to the band.”

Spanning 25 cities and kicking off in St. Louis, Missouri on July 18, the tour will likely be the biggest traveling display of tribal tattoos and tramp stamps ever assembled until it comes to an end on August 31 in Austin, Texas.
