It’s been five years now since hard rockers Inglorious steam-rolled their way into our record collections with their monumental self-titled debut.  Despite personnel changes and a hectic touring schedule they managed to churn out another two albums in quick succession much to the delight of their substantial and dedicated fan base.  This latest offering, “We Will Ride” due to be released on 12th February 2021 is sure to be eagerly swallowed up by a nation of music lovers – currently in lock down and impatient for new material.

As a taste of things to come, album opener ‘She Wont Let You Go’ was released on single and accompanying video, late November 2020.  A track that wastes no time pulling you into its fast paced, sleazy rhythm, it features heavy duty rock punctuated by very brief ballad sounding interludes to the point that you are never quite sure which way it is going .  Powerhouse vocals and accompanying spiralling guitar riffs are plentiful leaving the listener hopeful of more of the same throughout this release.

Album highlights for me include ‘Medusa’, which is lyrically superb, musically diverse and experimental, it precedes the notably softer ‘Eye of the Storm’ which kicks off in the form of a ballad before substantially building in pace and momentum – a fantastic demonstration of singer Nathan James’ vocal range.

‘He will Provide’ was my stand out favourite track on this record, it thrusts straight into an uncompromising musical frenzy of percussion and guitars and to my ear is an altogether darker piece of music which took me back to some place and time within my teenage realm, I feel it showcases these musicians at the top of their game.

The album features an impressive 11 songs and signs off with title track ‘We Will Ride’, a fantastic, hard hitting tune which will only leave listeners thirsty for the next instalment…

Inglorious are now in possession of an arsenal of phenomenal original material to impart upon their live audiences, no doubt relegating the majestic cover versions they used, to fill up earlier sets into the vault.

The echoes of their influences still resound but are quietening as they continue to progress, impress and produce their own indelible stamp on the music industry.
