Firewind is celebrating their 20th anniversary by touring North America and performing a “best-of” setlist. A 41-date tour that started in Santa Ana, California, on March 9th and will come full circle ending in Berkey, California, on April 23rd.

The brilliancy of Gus G’s guitar playing shines through on their 2020 self-titled album and will not disappoint metal fans or fans of his guitar playing. There are eleven songs on that album with powerful riffs, melodic vocal hooks, and blinding guitar solos. For the album and the 20th-anniversary tour, Gus enlisted the help of powerhouse vocalist, Herbie Langhans, to show the world that Firewind is just as strong as they ever were, if not better!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Gus to give us an update from the road on their 20th-anniversary tour, the importance of picking the perfect songs for their setlist, how his faith in playing guitar was shaken during the pandemic, and what the future holds for the band!
