We’re approaching the 30-year mark of the first couple of PHIL VINCENT releases I reviewed back in the mid-1990s. This incredible talented singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Rhode Island always impresses me with each release, because he keeps on delivering high quality melodic rockalbums. Also his new solo album Master Of Deception keeps the flag on a high level, with 9 strong new songs, of which the highlights are opener Evil Wants, Grifter, the very catchy Path Of Destruction and the AORish Can You feel It?.

Imagine DOKKEN and SCORPIONS doing a more modern approach to their classic 80s melodic hardrocksound, then you’re quite close to the direction of the new PHIL VINCENT solo CD. Phil is doing everything on his own here, except for additional lead guitarwork, which is provided by VINCE O’REGAN and the CD was mastered by JACOB HANSEN.

Concluded, this is another great addition to the growing catalogue of Phil!
