For me Battle Beast are becoming one of the best bands out there. Live they are phenomenal and now with this their seventh album they are continuing on the upward trajectory.

Opener ‘The Burning Within’ brings a bit more metal than usual with a razor-sharp riff but they have also this knack of coming up with superb melodies and with the awesome voice of Noora Louhino they cannot lose. That unerring knack for the melody comes out on ‘Here We Are’ which could be considered disco metal then the title track brings a load of dual vocals and a punchy AOR rocker but wait until near the end because things get proper raucous. Things get well funky on ‘Twilight Cabaret’ then heavier on ‘Last Goodbye’ where Noora tells you about yourself. We get a symphonic interlude on ‘The Long Road’ before the huge power metal epic of ‘Blood Of Heroes’ which raises the goose bumps. ‘Angel Of Midnight’ brings back the AOR then we get some Viking/dance metal on ‘Riders Of The Storm’ and let me tell you this will get everybody moving when they do it live. ‘Watch The Sky Fall’ is a fine way to finish which has everything you love about Battle Beast.

Battle Beast have it all. They can get proper heavy when they want to and they can ease up and go down the AOR route and they’re not afraid to put other styles in there and have some fun with it. Whatever metal/rock you prefer Battle Beast will have something that you will appreciate.
