All Seeing Eyes are prog power metal duo from the East of England. They formed in 2014 and were a trio until they keyboard left leaving singer/guitarist Ben Colton and man of many instruments and production Kenny Fraser. Apparently, their debut album was an 18-track powerhouse that garnered rave reviews as did their sophomore effort which brought in some grunge influences and got 10/10 from this very magazine.

‘Prophecies’ opens on a furious riff then eases off before it rages for the second half on a rapid groove before ‘The Neon Fortress’ gets choppy, and Colton flexes his pipes then we get some stunning guitar work before they go back to the big beefy riff which is mirrored by some synths. Talk about power metal! ‘The Lonely Road To Redemption Part 1’ is an instrumental interlude full of synth strings and rumbling timpani’s before some more beautiful Celtic guitar lines to set the scene for the second part which blasts out on some power chords before it rattles off onto the battlefield sword raised. Colton narrates the story using his full range as it goes through different movements. ‘Rise Again’ starts as a slower grind before they change gears and fly off on a power metal party that goes into the darker ballad ‘Forever’ and let me tell the guitar work, both acoustic and electric, is incredible. The darkness continues on ‘Firetribe’ with Colton getting deep and brooding as it builds and they bring the power gradually. ‘A Cure For Insanity’ gets chuggy and rapid again with stabbing keys that give it some real colour then we come back down on another slow burn for the final number – the epic ‘Beyond Judgement Day’.

Any criticism I have for this superb piece of power metal is minimal and me just being an arse. I would say that the vocal mix is not upfront enough and the keys are too loud, but who cares! The songs are superbly crafted and expertly performed. Colton has a magnificent set of pipes and Fraser knows his way around a fretboard alright. Although there are elements of prog in the songs they are not so ‘proggy’ as to alienate these ears that like things simple. Awesome, fantastic, superb and other adjectives don’t seem enough to describe this masterpiece. Get it for yourself and see if I’m right.
